What’s Your Story?
In the past few days there has been a lot of debate (again) around the terminology of E20. Is it technology, processes, mindset? The great thing about Mallesons is that they don't bother about terminology. They want to solve business problems and help clients. In the end that's where the money comes in.
Most of the technology used in PeopleFind and now in Mallesons Connect is neither exceptionally new nor ground-breaking. Moreover, most of the data used in the systems was available for a long time. BUT, the firm was intelligent, innovative and brave enough to mashup different data sources to create value for the firm and ultimately for their clients.
Stripping down in front of clients aka transparency is the hardest thing to convince firms to do. It's a huge mindshift (or headshift?) and technology won't be the reason for doing so. Today, too many firms are still hiding behind their firewalls especially in the B2B world. Companies doing business in the B2C market have learned painfully the opportunities and challenges of transparency and real-time conversations with customers. It won't be long before we see more brave examples like Mallesons and at some point in the future we will look back and laugh about the way we did business in the past.
As for your prediction, as we say in New York, "From your lips to God's ears." Let's hope it really isn't long before more companies discover the benefits of transparency.
